I am a product guy and I really love building products. What I really like about it, is it’s a way to channel two of my favourites things creativity & idea and business.

I’ve ran my own software company for the past 20+ years specialising in auction and marketplace platforms.

I am now consulting, building and advising through Orzo Blue and still have lot of ideas and things to talk about and share. I am also building a Saas, and that will feature in my thoughts too.

I’ve been playing with No Code platform for the past few months and I learned a lot. As a Java Developer back in the day, I’ve picked it up pretty quickly and what I like about it is the way I can rapidly try out things and put them together really quickly.

This Substack is a way for me to channel my creative side and share some of what I’ve learned and also to put it together with some ideas of how it can help business and business strategy.

Who is Alan Newman?

Some of you may know me from the coffee industry, and some of you may know me from machinery and fundraising sectors. I was the Founder and Managing Director at Sensible Development for the past 23 years. And now that I am moving on to a consultancy based business.

During that time, we grew from just me to having 14 employees through slow organic growth. We broke records in the coffee industry with our high quality coffees auctions for farmers all over the world. We’ve served machinery dealers with their intense high value auctions. And we worked with top tier banks in Canada and Corporate Foundations in the USA, helping them raise $millions though our unique podium auction platform.
